Contractor management is the process of onboarding, contracting, paying, and compliance-monitoring independent contractors across jurisdictions. Done well, it prevents misclassification, IP leakage, and unpaid-tax exposure.
A defensible contractor program includes classification review at onboarding, country-specific contracts with proper IP assignment, localized invoicing and payment, periodic reclassification reviews, and offboarding controls. Companies with more than ~20 contractors across 3+ countries typically move to an AOR to consolidate risk and standardize paperwork.
