Staff Augmentation
Staff augmentation is engaging external professionals to work under the client's direction and inside the client's team, typically on hourly or monthly rates. The client manages the work; the staffing partner employs the workers and handles compliance.
Staff augmentation contrasts with SOW/managed delivery, where the vendor owns the outcome. Staff aug is the right model when the client has clear internal capacity and technical direction and needs to scale headcount elastically. It is the wrong model when the client wants a fixed-price outcome — that's an SOW engagement.
